Ruixue Liang's Innovative Design Merges Nature with Luxury Living

The Vacation Villa, aptly named 'Poem of Wind and Light', is inspired by the breathtaking landscape of its location. Nestled in a beautiful valley, the villa is surrounded by glorious scenery and fresh air. The design project aims to bring the natural landscape, fresh air, and natural light into the room, offering residents a poetic experience.

What sets this design apart is its commitment to sustainability and nature. The villa, designed as a vacation home, houses numerous bedrooms for the host and guests. The designers aimed to maximize the benefits of the natural environment in each room, allowing residents to enjoy the valley's natural landscape. Natural lighting and ventilation are prioritized over artificial equipment, creating a green living environment.

The realization of this design involved a thoughtful reconstruction of the basement into a public activity area, strategically located in the best landscape section. The addition of a patio ensured good natural ventilation and lighting. The designers also rebuilt the garden on the roof of the basement and set up eleven comfortable bedroom suites, each reflecting the owner's personal traits. The design details are a testament to the designers' innovative use of space and commitment to sustainability.

The project, which spans a total area of 750 square meters, was completed within a year, from June 2017 to June 2018. The designers faced several challenges, including the need to screen out the messy parts surrounding the building and the requirement to set up more than eleven bedrooms with good lighting, excellent ventilation, and the best view. However, through innovative design solutions such as the use of patios and large-scale French windows, these challenges were successfully overcome.

The Vacation Villa is not just a design project; it is a testament to the potential of innovative architecture in creating sustainable living spaces. The design was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, a recognition of its remarkable design and innovation.
